Then it did. I didn’t love books. I loved getting inside them. I carried the characters off the page and into my life. I knew how they’d react, what they’d think, what would hurt them.
That is still the work. I step into a company’s universe and stand where its customer stands, until I understand what’s holding them back. Strategy starts there. Not at the keyboard.
I’ve been working since 2004, since I was nineteen. I started in publishing, on reference projects: several National Geographic titles, the History of the Greek Nation. Then at Tech Matrix, print and digital together, back when those were still separate worlds. That’s where I learned to write to be read, not to impress.
Digital from then on. The last chapter as Head of Content at NetSteps, leading a team of twelve and presenting every pitch. Ploom, nrg, Nobacco, Kastaniotis and many more brands in multiple sectors. Two awards.
I don’t sell gospel. I won’t tell you to post only video, or to post at 14:05. Trends turn over every three days. Authenticity and communities don’t. My opinion arrives after competitor research, real knowledge of the category, and testing.
One ticketing campaign, one message, three formats. In Chania the static poster sold. In Heraklion the reel did. No playbook would have told you that.
That’s the advantage of digital. The data is immediate. You see what works, you back it, you let the rest go. Same as life. Anything alive changes.
At Hand & Mind, the strategy, the words and the relationship are mine. You don’t get an account manager. You get me.
